Nervous System

The nervous tissue (majja) includes the bone marrow and the central nervous system. It provides conscious perception, subconscious activity and the transmission of neurological information via sensory and motor nerves to the brain centre.

The nervous system encompasses the activity of brain, cranial nerves, pituitary, spinal cord and spinal nerves. From the brainstem emerge twelve cranial nerves: olfactory, optic, oculomotor, trochlear, trigeminal, abducens, facial, vestibulocochlear, glossopharyngeal, vagus, accessory and hypoglossal.

On the basis of the constant accumulation of experiences, the nervous tissue forms a person's self-awareness and personal identity. It also includes the endocrine glands, which serve as control centers in the body and are linked to the activity of the seven chakras. The endocrinal glands release hormones directly into the bloodstream. Their function secures the process of procreation, growth, development, metabolism and balance of life functions.

Healthy nervous tissue enables clear perception and correct understanding, enhances life energy and optimism, and develops charisma and intuition. A by-product of this tissue is the fluid of the white of the eyes, tears and eye secretions.

Recommendations for memory problems and impaired brain function can be found in the article Poor Concentration and Memory, for psychological problems in the article Anxiety and Depression, for problems with sleep in the article Falling asleep and Sleep, and for tips on healthy eye care in the article Healthy Eyes & Vision Care.
